Elixir Extrusions expansion to invest more than $8 Million in Douglas-Coffee County
The Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) today announced that Elixir Extrusions, a manufacturer of custom aluminum extrusions and fabricated parts, will expand its operations in Douglas-Coffee County. This expansion will create 100 new jobs, and represents an investment of more than $8 million into the facility.
"Georgia continues to sustain a strong reputation for being a leader in manufacturing," said GDEcD Commissioner Pat Wilson. "It is encouraging when existing companies like Elixir Extrusions announce expansions, as it puts a spotlight on our pro-business environment. Our variety of strategic assets, including a well-connected logistics infrastructure and established workforce will continue to serve Elixir Extrusions well."
The new 70,000 square-foot facility will accommodate the integration of automated anodizing equipment. Coffee Correctional Opens New Training Center
Keeping offenders from returning to prison begins the day an individual enters our care. Now Coffee Correctional Facility is offering new ways to help prepare inmates for the day they will head home. Coffee Correctional Facility in Nicholls recently commemorated the opening of their new Inmate Vocational Training Center building.
The new building will house vocational programs in welding and diesel maintenance – both high-demand fields that can provide good career opportunities once inmates are released. The training center is 6,300 square feet and took just seven months to complete. Advanced Wound Healing And Hyperbarics Center opens at Coffee Regional Medical Center
Coffee Regional Medical Center, announced today the opening of the Advanced Wound Healing & Hyperbarics, an outpatient facility offering a comprehensive approach for patients with non-healing wounds.
The center’s patients are examined by a multidisciplinary staff trained in wound care and evaluated for all possible physical conditions, such as diabetes, that could interfere with proper healing.
